Just 5 short days till the first strip is posted! Meanwhile, I want to share with you another inspiration for the strip-- the writings of John Bunyan. Most people know about Pilgrim's Progress but Bunyan was a prolific writer and wrote many other equally amazing works. Another favorite of mine is the Holy War which I highly recommend. many of his great works are public domain and you can read them for free! I love the idea of allegory and bunyan was a master at illustrating great truths with fantastic stories. which is exactly what I hope to do with O-boy. Stay Tuned.

So I missed day 9 because my internet was out. It went out once before and when my provider sent a technician to fix it, he told me squirrels had chewed up the fiber optics. He said this was common because the coating is actually made with peanut oil! He also said expect it to happen again. It seems once they get a taste for it they keep coming back. Yay. Anyhow, Still excited about the upcoming launch and will post some new art tomorrow. STay Tuned. In the meantime, here is my favorite book about squirrels illustrated by the awesome Dan Krall. Dont let it creep up on you! mark your calendars now for the O-boy web comic launch!
It's been a while since I posted here. I have been hard at work finishing up the first story ARc, which is 99 percent done, requiring some lettering and a little tweaking. My plan is to have at least 2 arcs in the books before launching, so I still have a little ways to go before I am ready to get the ball rolling. I have decided on a launch date of September 23rd and will let you know more as the day approaches. Until then I will post some previews like the one here of O-boy's helper by the name of D.O.V.E. which stands for Device in Orbit for Vital Energy. This has been a tremendous learning experience. I have learned a lot about drawing, coloring, composition, etc. as well as how to use the computer as an artistic tool. I hope some of that gets across to the viewer and we can connect on some level. I am pretty pleased with the artwork, though I still have a long way to go. I think this is the best work I have done up to this point so I thank God for blessing me. It is also a blessing to get to work on a project like this, which is something I have wanted to do nearly all my life. Like I said, I hope some of that comes across when you finally see it. Special thanks my friend Kevin Lintz for a great script and some superb lettering. Until next time. God bless "The day of Darkness is over.....Here comes the Light!" Here's another preview panel for the O-boy comic strip by me and Kevin D. Lintz. In this one archvillain Glooma shields her face from O-boy's light. More to come.
I plan to post 1 preview panel per week from the upcoming comic strip. In this panel arch villain and enemy of the light, Glooma, rallies her Gloomtroopers for some gloomy purpose. Hope O-boy can save the day!
If I had a dream project it would include comic art, cartoony characters, and painting. It would involve working with talented like minded people. It would have characters and a story that are close to my heart and most important of all it must glorify God and spread His glorious good news of salvation in Jesus Christ. So now I am working on O-boy! Which has all of the above and I am so thankful to have the opportunity. I will be posting some preview pics as we move along but I can truly say this has been a joy to work on. Praying that God will bless it for His glory. BTW I am working with a friend named Kevin Lintz who is a writer. He has a great all ages comic called Team Slug. Check it out here: www.slugsforall.com
